A fabulous book, published by the military history publishers Osprey. Large format (A4 size) this is a graphic novel of the story of the Battle of Hampton Roads (1862) in the American Civil War. The Battle of Hampton Roads was the first Ironclad head-to-head in the Civil War with the CSS Merrimac facing the USS Monitor. The batle saw the sheer power of the ironclads against conventional ships, and the four-hour duel was about the control the seas - vital to the South to export their cash crops. Accompanied by pages of historical background, photos of key figures, campaign maps etc. this is an incredible educational resource.
